See why rooms appear and disappear, and who can change what.
Why it matters
If you keep a pile of voice channels ready on a server, the list grows long and empty channels stay behind. A temporary voice channel is made for you the moment you join a trigger channel, and it goes away once the last person has left.

What you can do
