Importing past records and replays
How an admin fills in the past records of linked members in one go. Filling from replays is coming soon.
On this page
Before you start
- A Discord account with Manage Server. Only server admins can open this panel.
- The bot needs both the in-house features and Riot lookups turned on. If either is off, the panel does not appear.
- At least one member must have linked a Riot account. Active links are included whether or not the icon check is finished, and members who left the server are left out. How to link is in Link and re-verify your Riot account.
This panel fills in the Riot records of linked members by walking back through their history in one go. Automatic collection looks at only the latest 10 games at a time; this import looks through up to the latest 200 games of each account in Riot's history and saves the ranked and normal ones. Games played before the member linked are included.
Custom games (games you set up yourselves, like in-house matches) are not part of Riot's history, so they never arrive here either. Enter those by hand, as in Confirm a result and enter records.
- When an admin starts it, every linked member is included. Members are not notified or asked, and there is no setting for a member to opt out of the import.
- A member's only way out is to unlink or leave the server. If they unlink, even mid-run, that account stops. What is deleted and what stays when unlinking is in Link and re-verify your Riot account. To delete all the saved records, the member has to use the
/voice-meta forget-mecommand, which also deletes other data about them on that server. Details are in the Privacy Policy. - So it is a good idea to tell your members before you start.
Start the import
Open the panel
Under the member list on the Members page there is a Import past match history panel. Its top line shows the scope, like “Linked accounts n / m members”. n is the number of linked accounts that can be imported and m is all active members in the server. A link to the members who have not linked sits beside it. A linked account that is not active, or whose Riot account details have not been received yet, is not in n, so the two numbers can add up to something other than m.
Press start and confirm
Press Start import and a confirmation titled “Import past match history?” opens. It shows how many accounts will be imported, 200 games each, and an estimated maximum time. It also says the import keeps going if you close the window or the bot restarts, that you can stop at any time, and that games already received are kept. Press the button with the same name once more in that window to begin. If the last run ended with the Partial, Failed or Stopped badge, the button reads Start again.
The time shown is the longest it could take. Games already saved are skipped, and accounts that resume from where they stopped finish sooner. If another server is already running, its share is added to the time.
What you see while it runs
Read the progress
The badge reads Queued while it waits for the job ahead, and Importing once it is importing, with the name of the member whose account is being fetched. That line says it saves every 25 games, so if it stops midway, what was received so far stays. Beside the bar you see the number of accounts finished, the time left (as a ceiling) and who started it. The panel updates itself, so you do not need to reload.
- Only one import runs per server at a time. The start button is locked while it runs and works again when it ends.
- The bot imports one account at a time. When several servers overlap, they take turns, so yours may wait.
- While it runs, a member's Refresh now button and automatic collection go first, so it can be slower for that.
- If one account is restarted 3 times in a row without making progress, it stops and is marked in the result. The other accounts carry on.
Stopping partway
Press stop
While it runs there is a Stop button. It opens a confirmation titled “Stop the import?” that shows how many accounts are finished so far. Once you confirm, it stops at the next save point (every 25 games) and the games already received stay.
After stopping, press Start again to resume from where it stopped.
Read the result
- Done: every account finished. The number of newly saved games and the finish time come with it.
- Partial: only some accounts or some games came through. One line says how many games could not be fetched, whether there was no history or Riot did not answer, or whether an account stopped after repeated restarts. Pressing Start again skips games already saved.
- Failed: no account came through. The reason line is the same as above, and you start again the same way.
- Stopped: an admin stopped it, or the member left the server, or the link was removed. When an admin stopped it, the games already received stay.
Why a game can still be missing after the import is in My records are missing.
The Audit log page keeps “Past match import started”, “Past match import stopped” and “Past match import finished”. Start and stop show who did it, and all of them hold only numbers such as accounts or saved games. Which member's account it was is not recorded.
What members see
On a member's profile, a Loading chip sits next to the title of the Riot records table while that member waits and while the import runs. When that member's account is done, a Done chip stays for 30 minutes, and after that the received games simply show up in the table. If that member's account was not fully received, no Done chip appears. How to read the profile screen is in Your profile and match history.
We are preparing a way to help fill in records from replay files.
Where to go next
Link and re-verify your Riot account: how a member links and finishes the icon check. Your profile and match history: how a member reads records on the profile. Confirm a result and enter records: enter the games that this import does not bring in.
Check it worked
The Import past match history panel shows the Done badge and the number of saved games. The profile records table of a linked member is filled with older games too.
