Before you start
This guide is for an admin who already has a first trigger channel. If you have none yet, start with A server admin's first 5 minutes.
- An account with Manage Server
- A voice channel to use as a trigger — the bot needs its permissions there (Manage Channels, Move Members, and so on)
- If permissions are unclear, check The server permissions Kletoi needs first
What a trigger channel does
A trigger channel is an entrance: when a member joins it, a room is created for them and they are moved into it. You can keep several triggers, and each one can give its rooms a different name, category and user limit.
- Name template — the template that builds room names.
{user}is replaced by the joining member's name. - Temp channel category — the category the room is placed in.
- User limit — 0 to 99, where 0 means unlimited.
A blank option follows the server default. Whether rooms start locked (Private by default) is not set per trigger; it is a server-wide default, set in the server defaults step below.
Add another trigger
在哪里操作?
在网页控制台中
Open the trigger window
Press the Trigger channels card to open the window. Add a trigger is on the left, Current triggers on the right.
Pick the voice channel
Choose a channel in Voice channel. If you need a new one, create it with + Create new. That only creates the channel, so press Add trigger at the end to make it a trigger.
Set the options (optional)
Fill in Name template, Temp channel category and User limit. Leave one blank to follow the server default. The Here's what gets made preview shows the result.
Press Add trigger
When it is added, a new row appears in the list on the right.
在 Discord 中
Add it with the command
/admin add-triggerPick a voice channel for channel, and fill in name_template, user_limit and category if you wantAll three options are optional. If the channel is already a trigger, the bot replies “That channel is already a trigger.”
Check the list
/admin list-triggersShows the header with your count and limit, then each triggerYou are done when the new trigger shows in the list, and joining it creates your room and moves you in.
Set the server defaults
Any option you leave blank on a trigger is filled by these values. The whole settings page is in Server settings at a glance.
在哪里操作?
在网页控制台中
Set the defaults and save
Set Name template, User limit (0–99) and Private by default, then press Save. Pick the category under Temp channel category in the Channels section.
在 Discord 中
Set the defaults
/admin set-defaultsFill in only what you want to change: name_template, user_limit or locked/admin set-categoryPick the category for temporary rooms. Send it empty to clearIf a member has changed Private by default or the user limit themselves, their value wins. A room name the member has set also comes before the Name template.
If you set a server default category, new rooms from triggers without their own category are created inside it. If you left it blank, they are created in the trigger channel's own category. A category set on the trigger itself comes first.
Change or remove a trigger
There is no screen for editing Name template, Temp channel category or User limit. Remove the trigger and add the same channel again with the new options. Only the trigger channel's own name can be changed, with ✎ (Rename) on its row.
If any trigger is marked Paused, “remove and add again” can be refused. Paused rows still count toward the limit, so removing one running trigger leaves you at or over the limit and the re-add is turned down. Removing a running trigger also brings the next paused one back to life. Clear the paused triggers first, or make the change after you resubscribe to Premium.

Remove it from the list
Press ✕ (Remove) on that trigger's row and confirm at Remove this trigger?
Add it again with the new options
Follow the add steps above and pick the same channel again.
在 Discord 中
Remove it
/admin remove-triggerPick the trigger channel to removeAdd it again with the new options
/admin add-triggerPick the same channel and fill in the new options- Removing a trigger keeps the rooms that already exist. The channel just stops creating new ones.
- Options are read when a room is created, so the new options apply from the next room onward.
- Removing a trigger does not delete the voice channel itself. If you delete that channel in Discord, the trigger leaves the list on its own.
This command deletes every trigger on the server and keeps only the channel you pick, with its options cleared. Use it only to set the very first trigger on a server that has none (A server admin's first 5 minutes). On a server that already has triggers, use /admin add-trigger instead.
You are done when the removed trigger is gone from the list and joining that channel no longer creates a room.
How many triggers can a server have
A server can have 5 triggers on the free plan and 15 on Premium. At the limit, a new trigger is not added: a free server sees a Premium note, and a server at the maximum is asked to remove an existing trigger first. See the plans on pricing and the five limits compared in Compare plans and free-tier limits.
Separately from the number of triggers, there are limits on how many rooms one person can have open and how many rooms a server can have at once. The numbers are in How many rooms can be open at once.
- When Premium ends, triggers over the limit stay in the list but do not create rooms; they are marked Paused. Joining them does nothing. What else changes after Premium ends is in Compare plans and free-tier limits.
- They work again as soon as you resubscribe, and removing a running trigger also brings the next one back.
- To choose which triggers pause instead, use Swap paused triggers at the top of the trigger window.
If you get stuck
- If the bot lacks permissions on that channel, the web shows “The bot lacks the required permissions on this channel (Manage Channels, Move Members, etc.).” and the command lists the missing permissions. Check them in The server permissions Kletoi needs.
- Check whether you are at the limit in the header of
/admin list-triggers. - A channel that is already a trigger gets “That channel is already a trigger.”
- If no command shows at all, see The console is locked or commands are missing. If a command that was just added does not show, see The console is locked or commands are missing.
Where to go next
Members who own a room can change its name, size and lock in Manage your room — name, limit, lock, hide. Who can join a room is covered in Allow, block, knock and invite, and the room-count limits in How many rooms can be open at once. To move members who keep their headphones off to the AFK channel, see AFK auto-move. Point your members to A member's first 5 minutes.
Check it worked
The trigger you want shows in the /admin list-triggers result or in the trigger window's list, and joining it creates a room with the name and limit you set.
