Before you start
- A temporary voice channel you own. Joining a trigger channel creates one. If this is new to you, start with A member's first 5 minutes.
- Only the owner can use the commands and panel buttons here. The one exception is 🚪 Knock, which someone who cannot get in presses.
- Slash commands only work while you are inside the room's voice channel. Used from outside, they answer that they work only inside a temp voice channel.
- For what lock (🔒 Lock) and hide (👀 Hide) do, see Manage your room — name, limit, lock, hide first.
Allow or block one person
Pick the person with a command
Allow and block are slash commands (to block someone, use /voice deny). The panel has no button for them.
/voice allowThis person can join even while the room is locked. Pick them in member./voice denyBlocks just this person without locking the room. If they were on the view list, they leave it.Each room has a limit
- Allowed and blocked people together count toward a limit per room: 50. Premium servers get 200. To see it with the other limits, see Compare plans and free-tier limits.
- The count is per room. Switching someone already on the list between allow and block never hits the limit.
- People you let in with ✅ Accept on a knock, and people you invite with 📨 Invite while the room is locked or hidden, also go on this list and count. Inviting into a room that is open and visible adds no one to it.
- Removing someone from the list always works, whatever the count.
At the limit, adding a new person gets a notice like “You can single out at most 50 people in this room.” (the number follows your server's plan). Trim the list first.
Take someone off the list
/voice clearRemoves that person's allow, block and view-list entries in one go.After /voice allow, you get “Allowed Kai to join.”, visible only to you. After /voice clear, you get “Cleared access and view settings for Kai.”.
Knock: asking to get into a locked room
The person outside presses Knock
Press 🚪 Knock on the panel in the room's chat. It only works while the room is locked. In an open room the bot says “This room is open — just join.”.
When the request reaches the owner, only you see “🚪 Sent your entry request to the owner. Please wait for them to accept.”. You can knock on the same room once every 60 seconds.
The owner gets the request
If the server has the Allow bot DM notifications switch on and the owner's DMs are open, it arrives as a DM. Otherwise it is posted in the room's chat with an owner mention. An admin turns that switch on; where is covered in A server admin's first 5 minutes. Either way it carries ✅ Accept❌ Reject.
If you do not answer, the request just stays. The buttons stop working after a while, and also if the bot restarts. Then ask them to knock again.
Accept or reject
✅ Accept puts them on the allow list, so they can join right away, and they get a DM that it was accepted. ❌ Reject sends them a DM that it was rejected. If their DMs are closed, that notice does not reach them.
If the list is full (50, or 200 with Premium), accepting fails. The owner's message changes as below and the buttons stay live. Free a spot with /voice clear, then press ✅ Accept again.
Pressing 🚪 Knock outside a locked room shows you “🚪 Sent your entry request to the owner. Please wait for them to accept.”, and the owner gets a request with accept and reject buttons.
Invite one person, or post a link
Invite one person
Press 📨 Invite on the panel and pick one server member. The command is /voice invite. You cannot invite someone who is already in the room.
- The link works for 1 hour and can be used once. If someone else uses it first, it is spent.
- If their DMs are closed, the bot posts a mention and the link in the room's chat.
- If the room is locked or hidden, the invite also puts them on the allow list, so it counts toward the limit above (50, or 200 with Premium). At the limit the invite is refused. Turn off lock and hide first, or free a spot with
/voice clear.
Post a join link in the room chat
Press 📢 Link and a join link is posted in the room's chat, with a 🔗 Join button. The reply only you see holds the link so you can copy and share it elsewhere.
- The link is valid for 1 hour with no cap on how many times it is used. Anyone who has it can use it.
- This link grants no permissions, so it does not get anyone into a locked room or past a block. To let a specific person into a locked room, use the invite above or the
/voice allowcommand.
If the bot lacks the permissions it needs to create invites or grant access, it cannot complete the action. Tell a server admin and check The server permissions Kletoi needs together.
- 📨 Invite — for one named person. They can get in even if the room is locked.
- 📢 Link — when the room is open and anyone may come.
- 🚪 Knock — when the other person asks first (the owner accepts).
After picking someone with 📨 Invite you see “📨 Invite DM sent to Kai.”, visible only to you. If their DMs are closed you see “📨 Kai's DMs are off; mentioned in channel chat instead.” instead.
Who can see a hidden room
👀 Hide hides the room. Only people in the room now and people on the view list can see it. People you invite or allow while it is hidden can see it too. People you blocked cannot see it. To show it again press 👁️ Show.
Put people on the view list
Press 📋 View list on the panel and a list message appears that only you can see. Add up to 5 people at a time from the upper menu, and remove people from the lower one. To add one at a time by command, use /voice view.
/voice viewAdds one person who can see the hidden room.- It only lets them see the room. Locking decides who can join. If the room is locked, allow them or accept their knock.
- Up to 50 people per room, the same on every plan, counted separately from the allow and block limit above (50, or 200 with Premium).
- It has no effect while the room is visible. It applies once you hide the room.
- Blocking someone removes them from the view list. Adding a blocked person to the list lifts the block.
- The panel's “Visibility” line also shows the list size. To remove someone use the lower menu in the list message, or
/voice clear.
Hide the room and open 📋 View list: you see “Hidden — these people can see the room. Locking decides who can join.”. While the room is visible you see “The room is visible right now. Once you hide it, these people can still see it.” instead.
Where to go next
To change a room's name, size, lock or hide, see Manage your room — name, limit, lock, hide. If no room appears or you hit a limit, see How many rooms can be open at once. Triggers are set up in Create or change a trigger channel.
Check it worked
Lock the room, knock from another account and see the owner's notice arrive. Accept, and they can join. Remove them with /voice clear and, once they leave, they cannot get back into the locked room.
