Before you start
A share card turns a match result or your own record into a single image. It comes with a link, so you can paste it into Discord or social media. This guide covers, in order, how a member makes and turns off a link, how names appear on a card, and how an admin auto-posts result cards to a channel. The member part and the admin part are split by headings.
- Member part: an account logged in with Discord. A match record card can be made only for a match where you are on the roster.
- Admin part: a Discord account with Manage Server. Auto-posting result cards is a server setting, so an admin changes it.
- The bot needs the in-house match features turned on. If they are off, the share card pages do not open.
If you are an admin, jump straight to Admin part: auto-post result cards. All the server settings, such as channels and the DM switch, are in Server settings at a glance.
Which cards are there
- Match record card: a member who played in a manually entered and approved match (scrims included) makes it. This is the focus of this guide. A name appears only for members who turned on name display. How to enter a match by hand is in Confirm a result and enter records.
- Match result card (link), MVP, leaderboard and profile cards: open them from the Share card row on the web console match page (for matchmakers; it shows on a match with a confirmed result, and the MVP link only when there are MVP votes), a member's match review page, and the Share card button on a profile. They show server display names with a first-letter tile and use no profile pictures. Match result, MVP and leaderboard cards do not ask the people named for separate consent. Only you can make your own profile card. A link stops opening 90 days after it is made.
- Season wrap-up card: when a season ends, a link appears in the wrap-up DM and on the profile. Its expiry and what it shows are covered separately in Running a season and its wrap-up.
- Auto-post result card (channel image): when a result is confirmed, a card image is posted to the channel the server chose. It is a Discord channel post, not a public link. The admin part covers it.
Member part: make a share card and link
Open the match details from your profile
On kletoi.com Home, press My profile on the server's card. On the Custom games tab, expand the card of a manually entered and approved match and press the Match details link.
The Create share card button shows at the top of the details page only when you are on that match's roster. There is no button for a match that is not approved yet or one you are not on.
Pick the size and content on Create share card
In the Size row, pick one of 4:5 feed · 1:1 square · 9:16 story · Link preview. In the Content row, pick Match summary (Both teams · score · all 10) or My record (My champion · KDA · stats). At first 4:5 feed and Match summary are selected. The preview below is the image the server drew, as is.
Copy the link or save the image
Press Copy link in the Share link box to copy the link. If you need the image file, press Save image · PNG. This maker page opens only for you when logged in and is marked so search engines do not index it.
You are done when a link shows in the Share link box and the preview image loads.
Open the profile and leaderboard cards from your profile
Unlike the match record card, the profile card and the leaderboard card open from the Leaderboard panel on your profile. They show only when the bot's in-house features are on.
Press Share card in the Leaderboard panel
On kletoi.com Home, open your profile with My profile and go to the Leaderboard panel. The Share card button at the right of the panel header opens your profile card, and the one at the bottom right under the table opens the leaderboard card. The leaderboard card button shows only when there is a leaderboard; while you view a past season, it opens that season's card. Both open in a new tab.
Save or share from the card page
The card page has a Save square image button. In a browser that supports sharing images (usually a phone), a Share image button also appears and sends the image straight to social apps. Other browsers show the note “Open this page in a phone browser to share the image straight to your social apps.”. Copy link copies the link.
Anyone with the link can view this card page without logging in. How long it stays open and what it shows are in “Who can see it and how long it stays open” below.
Press Share card in the Leaderboard panel on your profile and the card opens in a new tab with a Save square image button.
Who can see it and how long it stays open
A share link (kletoi.com/s/…) and its preview image can be seen by anyone who has the link, without logging in. The link is a signed address, so nobody can guess another one, but once a link has been passed on, it opens for everyone. Share pages are marked so search engines do not index them. Places such as Discord or KakaoTalk may save the preview image on their own, and Kletoi cannot delete or change those copies. Turning off a link or turning off your name does not change a preview that is already saved. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
- The two team names (free text, so a nickname may be in them), the score, and the date (server time zone), length and kind.
- Each row has team, position, champion and kills/deaths/assists. The My record card shows your row large and adds damage, CS, wards and kill participation.
- A name appears only for members who turned on name display, as the server nickname with a circle holding the first letter of the name; Discord profile pictures are not used. Everyone else, and players who are not server members, appear as an anonymous label built from team, position and champion, like “Our MID · Orianna”.
What follows applies to match record card links. Links of match result, MVP and leaderboard cards stop opening 90 days after they are made, and season wrap-up links are covered in Running a season and its wrap-up.
- It stops opening 90 days after it was made. Opening it shows This share link has expired.
- It closes when the person who made it turns it off (see “Turn off the links you made” below).
- It does not open while the person who made it is away from the server. If they come back, links they did not turn off open again.
- If the person who made it runs the
/voice-meta forget-mecommand on that server, the links they made for that server's matches no longer open. What cannot be undone is in Delete your data or change privacy settings.
Choose whether your name shows on cards
Open the name display section on your profile
Your profile has a Show my name on share cards section. The My name setting link under the “Only members who agreed to be public are shown by name” note on the Create share card page takes you straight there.
Turn the switch on and save
Turn the switch on (On) and press Save. The setting is per server and is off at first (Off).
- On: your server nickname appears in the images of match record cards you are in on this server, in the share links (kletoi.com/s/…) and in their link previews. Links you already made redraw the next time they open.
- Off: cards are anonymous from the next time they are drawn (“Cards are anonymous from the next render.”). Images already downloaded cannot change.
- The switch decides only your own name. Other members decide theirs, and a server admin cannot turn it on for you.
- Match result, MVP, leaderboard and profile cards have no such switch. Those cards show server display names.
- Turning the switch off or running the
/voice-meta forget-mecommand deletes this setting. Other privacy settings are listed in Delete your data or change privacy settings.
After turning it off, you are done when Name display turned off appears. After turning it on, check that the switch stays on On.
Turn off the links you made
Press Turn off links for this match
Press the Turn off links for this match link under the Share link box (“Closes every link you sent”). Every link you made for this match is affected. Only the person who made a link can turn it off, and links made by other people are not touched.
Confirm and press the turn-off button
When “Turn off all share links for this match?” appears, press Turn off links. If you change your mind, press the Cancel link.
- “Every link you've sent stops working. This can't be undone — make a new link to share again.”
- Opening a link that still had time left shows This link was turned off.
- To share again, press Make a new link and make a new link (“New link — previous links stay off”).
- Images already downloaded and previews already shown in a chat may remain.
You are done when the Previous links turned off box appears after you turn them off.
Admin part: auto-post result cards
From here on it is the server admin's job. Unlike the share links members make, this feature posts a card image to a server channel when a result is confirmed.
Set a Match announce channel
Pick a text channel. Without this channel, nothing is posted even when auto-posting is on. Once set, it cannot be cleared; you can only switch to another channel (Server settings at a glance).
Turn on Auto-post result card
The switch sits in the same card. It is off at first. When on, cards go to the channel set in Match announce channel.
Press Save
Press Save at the bottom of the page to save the setting.
- It is posted when a result is confirmed in the web console by picking the winner. The same match is never posted twice. A match ended without a result is not posted.
- The post has a title like “Match #12 · Result” (with the match name in front if the match has one), the card image, and a Open on the web button.
- The card image shows “Team 1” and “Team 2”, a “WIN” or “LOSE” mark on each team, the server display names of the players who joined (with a first-letter tile), and the date. Profile pictures are not used.
- The Open on the web button opens the match page for server members. Logging in is required. On a server where Public match viewing is turned off, only members who took part in that match can open it.
- If the bot lacks the permission to attach files, only the title and button are posted, without the image. Check permissions in The server permissions Kletoi needs.
- When a matchmaker posts the MVP with the Announce highlight button and this post already exists, an MVP line is added to it. On a server with auto-posting off, using Announce highlight for a match with a confirmed result posts one message with the same card image at that point. Details are in No-shows, marks and MVP.
- The auto-post is an image in a Discord channel, not a public link. Anyone who can see that channel sees the players' server display names. The name display switch does not apply to this card, so it is good to tell members before you turn it on.
- Turning Auto-post result card off is not a guarantee that no card image is posted. When a matchmaker presses Announce highlight on a match with a confirmed result, a post with the same card image goes up. The highlight and the Join message cannot be stopped while a Match announce channel is set.
- A match record share link a member made can be turned off only by the person who made it. A server admin cannot turn it off for them.
- There is no server-wide switch for name display. Each member decides it per server.
- The lifetime and the moments a match record card link closes are in “When a link closes” in the member part. Links of match result, MVP and leaderboard cards stop opening 90 days after they are made.
You are done when, after you confirm a result, a post titled like “Match #12 · Result” with the card image shows up in the channel set in Match announce channel.
Where to go next
To show members how to read their profile, send them A member's first 5 minutes and Your profile and match history. Manual entry, which a match record card is built on, is in Confirm a result and enter records. An admin setting up a server for the first time should start with A server admin's first 5 minutes. The season wrap-up card is in Running a season and its wrap-up. All server settings are in Server settings at a glance, and how to appoint the matchmakers who confirm results is in Appointing and revoking matchmakers. The settings a member can change besides name display are in Delete your data or change privacy settings.
Check it worked
A member is done when they can see the link and preview on Create share card and decide name display and link turn-off on their own. An admin is done when, after turning on Auto-post result card and saving, a card shows up in the channel set in Match announce channel once a result is confirmed.
